Tocho is an impolite in awful habits Basque who works in Bilbao’s docklands as night watch. Tired of his exhausted and routine life, a letter from Tombuctu, Mali, drives him to make an extreme change: finding employment elsewhere, Tocho voyages France for gathering Jean Pierre, a long lasting companion, repelled of their childhood days.
There Tocho reveals to Jean Pierre that Joseba, their other long lasting companion with who they three headed out from Spain to Tombuctu years prior to sell race autos and who he set up there in Mali ten years back, is kicking the bucket. Hesitant, Jean Pierre acknowledges Tocho’s arrangement to go Mali to meet Joseba before it be past the point of no return. They two visit Ely, Joseba’s recently grown-up little girl to solicit her from going with them.
